| Dawn I'm not quite sure how you feel I have "used" the save Brentford Library Campaign? You leave me puzzled. Thank you for your congratulations. For information, it was in early January I became chairman of Hounslow LibDems having been Vice Chairman for some years -and some 30 years ago Chairman of Hounslow SDP. Jill and I tried to be very evenhanded over the Read-in and to invite both Mary and Ruth to take part.Most people would not have been aware of my role in the LibDems. I have put much more of my life into libraries than I have into the LibDems! I thought we were all aware that our libraries have not been saved but that the decision has been postponed for another year when once again the Council reviews the cuts it will need to make to meet the Government's requirements. We have a breathing space. I don't know about the history of the football ground but I recollect the Council's predecessor purchasing both Boston Manor and Gunnerbury parks. Now what do you suggest we do in practical terms to prevent the cull of our libraries this time next year? |
