"but I have to say if just keeping three main libraries, Hounslow, Chiswick & Feltham open helps to keep some of the Youth Service intact or some of the help to the elderly and vulnerable going then I would reluctantly accept it" Are you the same Vanessa Smith who, a week or so ago, posted the following onto the ChiswickW4.com forum?: "I am quite prepared to join any protest to defend our libraries, they are a most precious resource" Can you not see what damage this ridiculous party whip system is inflicting on our communities? It would seem even non-councillors have to think and speak according to the script. Whatever shortcomings the coalition administration of 2006-2010 may or may not have had, any proposal by the senior partner to close Isleworth or Brentford library during that time would have been met with a simple "no" and the discussion would have been over. I challenge you to tell me I am wrong. And I thought you were supposed to be one of the political "experts" that we are all supposed to look up to and in whose capable hands we are supposed to leave everything? |
