It is unthinkable that Brentford library might close. The same applies to many of the others across the borough, especially Isleworth and most importantly Beavers. There are a number of ways to lower the funding necessary and to generate a few extra funds.... The number of days open can be reduced without causing any undue hardship; the venue could be used for weddings/receptions etc; charges could be levied for CDs and DVDs, nominal charges could be introduced for internet access and so on and on. It is very important that Brentford library is kept open and doesn't go the way of the Brentford baths down the road. It was a generous gift to us and must remain. |
