| Thanks for the photos Jim. They bought back many memories. Such a lovely building, what will happen to it if they close it as a library? Hate to think of it standing empty and sliding into oblivion. Our library uses volunteers to check out books etc. I'm sure that there are a great many people in Brentford who would work a few hours as a volunteer to keep the library open. We also have an organization called "Friends of the Library" who have book sales to raise money which helps to keep the library going. Occasionally they invite authors etc. to give talks to the public which are very interesting. In the Summer they have events for the small children which are well attended. |
