Phil-well said. I might add that the number of Labour votes(c 2,000) in O&SG in the last locals looked incredibly considering I as a Labour candidate in 1986 only got around 600 in the same ward.Even if you double this for the GE turnout you only get 1,200, and my 600 was at a time when the Thatcher government was in disarray and Nick Raynsford won the Fulham byelection off them. How then can an election coinciding with Labour's national defeat produce 2000 Labour votes in O&SG? |
