It's not a Fred Turner book. Hounslow Council has the very first known art work by J.M.W.Turner. When he lived in Brentford he was given a topographical book of England and he coloured all the plates in the book. It has beeen shown at the Tate. "The young Turner was sent to stay with his maternal uncle, Joseph Mallord William Marshall, in Brentford in 1785, which was then a small town west of London on the banks of the River Thames. It was here that he first expressed an interest in painting". |
