| "All this talk saying the council "wants" to shut libraries is nonsense - no they don't, these are the decisions they are having to consider because of the government's cuts." I guess then the more sensible way to put it would be that the Council wants to shut libraries because it can't find any other savings it can consider to fall in with the Governments austerity measures which are necessary because the last Government departed with the coffers well and truly depleted, Now what was the parting note Liam Burne left for his successor again....? Something along the lines of 'don't bother looking for the money - we haven't left you any' |
