Vanessa, you seem to be missing the point, if these Libraries were up for closure obviously discussions must have been taking place in the interim.Why? then was so much money spent on refrubishing them, doesn't it seem pointless. That money could have been utalized in keeping those same Libraries open. Even as we talk on this thread, Isleworth is still being done up, the big question is WHY??? You say that although Libraries are being refurbed it does not affect how the current council approach their budget, of course it does. When you control the purse strings you can say yea or nay to any expenditure that you were not privvy too previously, leaving out the already signed idiotic contract's to both Laing and Fusion, you must understand that these refurbishment's are not inclusive to the contract consequently LBH could and should have said NO!!! |
