| Simon The officer with whom I think you spoke is a man for whom I have a huge amount of respect, both in terms of his ability and his personal integrity, but my advice would be to never allow Ivytag to be in a position where it is dependent upon these promises being delivered. When push comes to shove like all officers his wages are paid by the same people who have brought this division about in the first place and who are promoting the URA Chair and his unconstitutional leadership and agenda for their own selfish reasons. There is not a snowball in hell's chance that they will allow funding or any other kind of assistance to reach a group such as yours which exists outside of their orbit. Control freaks control, it is what they do. Apply by all means, and take anything that is offered, but please don't ever place yourself in a position where you are reliant upon their patronage because you will be disappointed. Build a parallel structure and outflank them with your energy and with the rightness of your cause. Knowing the gentleman who is now running the association on their behalf he will not be able to match you for effort, and his demands upon his new sponsors will become increasingly ambitious and unrealistic. And you know as well as I do how he will react when they are not met. Enjoy! |
