Adventure park plans for Hounslow Heath Fri, 13 February 2015 Plans to build an exciting new children's adventure attraction at Hounslow Heath Golf club have been given the green light, Hounslow Council has announced. The council has agreed to lease the 120 acre site to Hobbledown Ltd to develop a children’s adventure park featuring indoor and outdoor adventure play facilities and exotic animals, a revamped 9 hole golf course with new clubhouse, a new 30 bay driving range, an adventure golf course and an Adrenaline Village consisting of High Ropes and Zip Line courses. A second phase will include a children’s nursery and water splash area. A total of £9m will be invested in the development which is expected to employ over 180 local people once open. Councillor Sachin Gupta, Hounslow Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Leisure, explains: "Hobbledown promises to be one of the most exciting children's leisure parks in West London - there is nothing to match it locally. The development will transform this poorly used area into a top visitor attraction and popular activity centre for local people". Hobbledown, who operate another attraction in Epsom, have been granted a 125 year lease on the site which is currently home to a golf course. Subject to getting planning permission, construction is expected to start in October 2015 and the adventure park would open at the beginning of 2017. |
