"If a children's playground was taken away it would be understandable" At one time there WAS a children's play area in this park, the equipment was taken away as it fell apart, and then the park was left open for public access. A lot of dog walkers used it, and it was neglected by the council, who only ever did the minimum they could get away with, in fact it was the deplorable state of the park that prompted my original enquiries. Before entering into discussions it might be useful and sensible to check your facts, this is NOT common land it is designated 'open space'. There is a distinct and increasing feeling of adding more and more layers to the already tangled web created by officers and members in the hope that local residents who object most strongly to this high handed and dubious 'leasing' will get fed up and just go away. Sorry, to any of them that see this, there isn't a hope in hell of that happening. We will get to the bottom of this, so if anyone has anything to say which would explain truthfully what has gone on, now would seem like a good time to do that................ |
