I find it hard to believe that Brendan Walsh actually looked at the land or that he “looked carefully at other areas of land in the immediate vicinity” and concluded that it would be better to invest the £2000 p.a. in “other areas of open land such as Redlees Park” Clearly Mr Walsh has not taken heed of the complaints addressed to his department about the regular stench of raw sewage in Redlees Park from mothers who have been forced to abandon their outings with children because of the stench from the six open Mogden sewage storm tanks which are situated adjacent to the park. Perhaps he should visit the park during the half term and try to talk to some mothers with children and explain to them why his department has allowed Thames Water to continue to use the tanks for storage of rotting sewage without covering them or taking H2S readings near the tanks to establish what effects they may have on the environment and peoples’ health and well-being. |
