| Something to cheer us! Local allotment holders who had for a long time utilised an area in the ground for Rugby match day parking got an edict from none other than Mr. Andrew Smith (Parks and Open Spaces Projects and Development Manager) who has also been involved in the park saga, that they could no longer raise funds to be put towards the allotments with this initiative. Noises were made that any contravention of this would mean loss of your allotment! The pathetic reason? None other than gold ol' Health & Safety! Utter tripe! Of course Eric Pickles Secretary of State for Communities has just O.Kd residents using their driveways for this very purpose. Suffice to say an appeal over Mr. Smith's (big)head was made and the allotment holders can now carry on with the parking. We seem to have a lot of self important, jumped up officers rampaging around making up policy on the hoof (sorry) while members we elected sit idly by and leave us to their tender mercies. Not on - get a grip, remember who you are and why you so much wanted to get us to vote for you, and do the bloody job. |
