I called in to discover the park this morning. Vanessa, you have been misleading us ! There are shiny (?new) notices at the locked-barrier entrance and along the fencing announcing a consultation - which closed in mid-January. On the gatepost to the field itself there was also a taped card from the RSPCA asking the owner of the horses to contact them.I think it was dated with today's date. I wouldn't quite describe it as a WW1 battlefield, but the northern half, while level, is mainly mud with hardly any visible grass. It contained one horse and was separated from the southern half by an electric fence. That did have a covering of grass over ~75% of it and contained a second horse. There was no scrub remaining. Presumably the horses or the grazier have seen to that. As well as more copies of the (expired) consultation notice, the fence also had several copies of "These horses bite" notices and at the extreme northern end there was a copy of a council generated "Location Plan" which showed the area marked as "Recreation Ground". It also had a title with something like "Land at Northcote Road, Feltham" !! Are we sure that it isn't the Lead Ward Member for Feltham who has approved the decision ? |
