| Would these people know the truth if it came up and bit them on the backside? I can appreciate Ed Mayne being really p*ssed off as - to his credit - at least he's tried to do something. But Cllr. Sampson is a liar - her name is on the notice giving permission to let the lease, so how can she claim ignorance, also they all admit they got an email from an officer regarding the plans to let a lease, the fact that none of them bothered to read it or act on it is their problem. As for Cllr. Green, she just preferred to hide behind an officer and retreat. This old excuse of having to make savings is really wearing thin, the estimated £2000 they try to tell us they could save by leasing this park is loose change in a multi million pound budget. Never in this world was £2000 p.a. EVER spent on the maintenance of that area, and if that was what the council was paying then they were being robbed. How can they square that with the £70k for these two officers? I wonder how much this farce has already cost in time alone? And if I hear 'lessons will be learned' from a politician just one more time I may want to kill someone, the point is - they NEVER learn. |
