| One of the problems in all this is that to get from the kitchen in a small terraced house , one has to pass through the living room and the hallway is very narrow. Too narrow for the boxes without bashing the doorframe and walls or spilling the contents. And these things have holes in so drip. At least with the bags that would be soft enough not to cause damage. Ands could be folded and put out of the way in a small space until next required. Clearly no-one with any sort of pragmatic understanding thought of this. So in the end more goes into the general rubbish simply to get it to the front door without a trail of mess or scuffed walls. This mentality that one size fits all blights some authorities and it shows, as they are always the tatty looking boroughs |
