Your Conservative Cllrs have continued to ask for up to date fly-tipping statistics at the Borough Council and Area Forum meetings. Currently we are being told by Officers and the Lead Member that there has been a small but "statistically insignificant" increase in fly-tipping on private land but not much change in the fly-tipping on areas that LBH has direct responsibilty for. We are being asked to wait until the refurbished depot comes on stream before drawing any conclusions. For what it is worth I think that fly-tipping is up in my ward but that it is being targetted and cleared a way more quickly. The jury is stilll out. Many people still do not know what they are supposed to do with their waste and recycling. In my judgement however these people are very much in the minority.
