| Oh I agree - the wheelie bins are much too high for the small gardens. In fact unless you have nappies then you should have more recycling than residual waste - and could probably share an ordinary sized dustbin. I'm sure that there should be a solution but to find it you need someone to talk to to agree it - and engaging with its residents does not seem to be something that Hounslow is very good at. Sharing boxes should work but the trouble is that packaging is changing - very little glass nowadays. Where are your nearest supermarket or roadside recycling banks? These can help if you suddenly become overloaded - especially if you are going by car to buy from a supermarket. Also squashing those plastic water bottles (we too think they are unnecessary) and also squashing plastic milk bottles makes a lot more space. |
