| The Streetwatchers in Acton used to mark the flytipped bags with Streetwatchers stickers making it very clear that they were flytipped bags and that flytipping is a prosecutable offence, and reported back to the Council. It seemed to help people to be more aware of the fact that other people noticed and weren't happy with the situation. Now we have to use the free downloadable LBE app "Ealing 24/7" or register and report on My Account page of www.ealing.gov.uk Quite honestly I preferred www.fixmystreet.com but you can get a slightly brusque email in return - the other systems apparently go straight to the contractors rather than to Customer Services (which seem to have suffered from the cuts). LBE have fined quite a few flytippers this year. This was just the start. https://www.ealing.gov.uk/news/article/1606/ealing_council_hands_out_4000_fines_for_fly-tipping It is countrywide - we can't just keep on chucking so much stuff out - we have to rethink rubbish. |
