| Nickolas My father work in a heavy industry up north and during the war traveled around carrying out maintenance in RAF and Army camps located over the UK. So when I started work he said that I had to start on time Pay attention to what I was being taught, be polite and courteous to my superiors, take your breaks when allowed and work to your contracted time. If you are asked to work over your contracted hours make sure you are remunerate for the extra hours completed. Please remember you are only a number to a large employer, trying to make a good impression by starting early and working late wont get notice by the governors that matter, it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to when it come to laying employees off. I worked for a large company for 38 years, I decided to take early retirement so to help me and the company out, when asked when I wanted to go, I said, at the end of the financial year, That would make it easier for the company, wouldn't it? The question was never answered, but was asked, can you leave in the first week in January? as anyone leaving under a redundancy scheme or early retirement the company wants them to leave the premise as quick as possible. No thank you for all the work and unpayed favors you put in over the last 38 years, just quote your pay number and collect your P45 on the way out. |
