| I find it absurd that within a few yards there appears to be different rules for our recycling. (!) The different coloured boxes & bin system. (2) The flats/shops who still put out their black plastic bags. (3) The 2 bin system employed by Ealing. To make such a fuss because someone dropped the 'wrong plastic' into the recycling box and yet refused to take the rest of their 'good plastic' in order to 'teach them a lesson' is absolutely ridicules! Because the boxes are open, any passerby can carelessly dump their papers or drink cans into it so a bit of understanding and tolerance would be helpful not pathetic retorts and pedantic behaviour. I dislike the new system as I find that I have to wash some of my recyclable plastic containers now in order to discourage vermin and the foxes from coming into my now very crowded garden. Why can't I just have 2 bins as my neighbours a few yards from me have? One for rubbish and the other for recycling. I don't actually remember there ever being a consultation on recycling replacement, but I do remember some years ago when the recycling and bin teams were in such a hurry to finish early that I saw 3 of the bin men join 2 of the recycling team and grab bin bags AND the recycling from several gardens and throw it ALL into the SAME dumpster but that was New Years Eve and clearly they had places to be! |
