"Personally I believe the northbound backlog from ASDA up to St Johns Road was caused by the mini roundabout at South Street / Twickenham Road.(since it was changed from being a traffic light)" I’ve been driving there for a few years now. And I believe this roundabout is one of very few moves that was a real improvement. It is much better than it used to be. Every week day I drive northbound between 4 and 5 pm. The roundabout itself is slow but always moving. The backlog now is due to: a) Traffic lights at the Worton Road junction; b) Traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing. When it’s read –which is often the case – lots of people crossing there and pushing the button - the roundabout is obviously stationary. But it has nothing to do with the roundabout itself. |
