I'm not going to get into the congestion debate, which has been exercised at great length over the last 3 years and which I have contributed to in the past. I thought I should share the actual pollution figures for Busch corner, where it bucked the borough trend by being one of only two (I think) monitoring points in LBH where NO2 levels reduced last year. This data is reviewed by DEfRA and has been validated by them. The 2018 figures have yet to be validated. The following is from LBH's Environmental Strategy officer: We’ve just completed air quality data analysis in preparation of 2018 ASR, and it shows that NO2 annual mean concentrations for the last two consecutive years have seen a reduction, 8.6% reduction in 2016 over 2015 and 12.1% reduction in 2017 over 2016, at Busch Corner. This is naturally a positive outcome, but of course, we’d like to do more to overcome exceedances, as part of latest air quality action plan that is currently under revision. https://hounslow.app.box.com/s/tyxqferolpv0f47hbmasoicehqim1377 No doubt some will proceed to call him (and me) a liar. |
