The vast majority of locals and visitors and people passing through, oppose the closure of Church Street because it radically increases their journey time. In some cases double!! They also oppose it because the pollution in Twickenham Road has increased and they have childsren attending the schools and their health is affected. They also oppose the closure because many other streets in Isleworth and St Margaret's have become rat runs. However - all being said - the Labour Party had no democratic right to close the street. The rest is irrelevant. The people of Isleworth didn't want it closed and they certainly didn't need some dimwitted Brentford Cllrs to interfere. |
