Trouble is Alex I suspect that very very few will not qualify for permits as if there is a blanket CPZ ( and that's the only fair way if there has to be one, Nearly all the vehicles in the existing area will indeed qualify for a permit. If it stood at 90+% last year then the yellow lines and additional ones proposed for the smaller streets will reduce capacity to less than 90% which means that permit holders will not necessarily find a space within the zone or indeed their street. Which effectively brings us back to square one. Empty streets during the day with many permit holders away at work or out in their vehicles anyway, but come home and it's much the same as now and outside of permit hours but still having to pay for one. If LBH come up with a better design with far less restrictions, shorter corner restrictions and so on then it might help but given the wholly unnecessary restrictions proposed for Albany Road which may well destroy 3 local shops , a caring considerate Hounslow council is not in their mentality. |
