A few weeks ago a resident from the new Barratt development was on here talking about the parking charges on the site, and issues arising from visitor permits etc which lead them to park on the surrounding streets. I do wonder if the council's apparent support for CPZ's is partly to do with their discussions with Barratt, and reaching some agreement there. In addition, I do wonder what effect these CPZ's will have on the pubs surrounding Griffin Park. They are already facing a major fall off in trade once the football ground moves. Introducing CPZ's thereby preventing customers parking nearby will surely have an impact (particularly if they have sports screens etc). Have any of you noticed how many vehicles pitch up for events at the New Inn? Before any of you say about drinking and driving etc - I not saying all of those who attend these pubs for events drink alcohol (different subject altogether..) |
