Apart from the cost of a permit. The true cost to any resident, car owning or not is much higher. If you live in a CPZ, Delivery and service costs often get imposed. If you have tradesmen they have to pass on the cost of a works permit. They also factor in the time lost in the process of getting one. You have to factor in every time you have visitors you will have to pay for them in the form of visitor permits. When we lived in Barnet this worked out at over £120 per annum in additional costs on top of the permit for our small car. Our neighbour an elderly lady incurred the same sort of costs minus the permit but eventually noticed that she got less and less visits as her friends and relatives all tried to avoid the cost or the threat of a ticket. Residents should think long and hard at what we are being manipulated into here. |
