Heres a taste of things to come. I'll only add that when the first CPZs started to be consulted properly, Ealing Council assured residents that it would always be a "service for residents" and it would never be expensive or a cash cow. A golden example of how a council can never ever be trusted. * from the Ealing W5 site: It's going to cost even more to park in some parts of Ealing this year as the council increases (pdf pg 174-5) charges for a third year running. All day zones residents’ passes have now increased from £45 (2010) to £80 (2013) – up 78%. Two hour zones residents’ passes have gone from £25 (2010) to £50 (2013) – up 100%. The latest rises were £77.50 (2012) to £80 (2013) and £45 (2012) to £50 (2013) respectively. Some visitor’s vouchers have gone from 40p for 3 hours to 60p an hour. A rise of 350%. The all day voucher is going up a £1 to £4.50 Originally this cost £1 - a rise of 350% in 3 years. Parking in West Ealing in Arden Road, Dean Gardens, Singapore Road, Witham Road goes up from £1 - £1.50 for the first hour's parking (then £1 per hour afterwards) The Council is making one concession in an attempt to encourage weekend shoppers to Ealing Broadway. From April 1 visitors will now be able to park all day on Sunday at Springbridge Road car park for £1. On Saturday, they will be able to park for £1 an hour or £3 for the whole day. The weekday charge will remain at £1 an hour |
