| Spare a thought for these of us who live on Adelaide Terrace, and York Parade. The parking bays outside our houses is controlled by TFL when the CPZ comes into force in the roads behind and around the A4 we will be lucky to ever park outside our houses again. The councils solution? Petition TFL to allow our parking bays to be included in the CPZ? No, don't be silly, that would be fair and sensible, they have generously offered to sell permits to us so we can park in the CPZ where there won't be enough parking anyway. In streets such as Challis Road, Enfield Road etc. there isn't enough space now for the residents to park, just go down any of them at night and you'll see issuing permits and marking out a CPZ will only compound the problem. Cllr Harmer may pontificate about surveys and the like but in all honesty can anyone believe that 3 months after setting up a CPZ the council is going to take it down again. In your dreams! And anyway they'll have had our money for the first year by then and of course closing the scheme would be unfair on those that want it etc etc..... If you'd like to prove me wrong I'd love to know where this has been done. It would be nice if Cllr Harmer were so passionate about the semi derelict buildings being used as advertising sites and the the epidemic of utility roadworks we've had to endure over the last couple of years. |
