The yellow lines on the corners would have gone in irrespective of a CPZ. This is to allow longer recycling vehicles to use these streets. But many of the double yellows are much longer than need be. In Hammersmith and Fulham for example. Corner yellows are kept to just 1 car length on all narrow roads and side streets that do not have junctions with large roads. Hounslow's CPZ designs are an over the top interpretation of what they claim are the rules but are actually only guidelines and very flexible. It's been mentioned time after time. A full CPZ in this block will lose nearly 100 spaces according to the Boroughs design. From turning restrictions, corner restrictions and passing points. It's also a very expensive load of add ons pushing the implementation cost up. |
