Guy. Thank you, and the other Councillors for replying. Regarding this pot of money, there have been several times on this forum where somebody has suggested a mobile camera could have been used to check out behaviour or dumping. We joined a group who went out with residents association, community police and Cllr Tony Louki who organised the walk. Cllr Tony Louki is very active, like yourself, in engaging with the community, whatever that might bring ;), and the new style lighting came up several times. There were some particular areas which are frequented by drug dealing, probably chosen by them because of escape routes and dim night lighting. There used to be lots of fly tipping in one of these areas and a couple of bollards stopped this. The fly tipping has just moved to other areas and a mobile camera or 2 might help catch the critters. To most people adding up the cost of clearing the fly tipping v the cost of the use of a mobile camera would be a sensible use of public funds, you might even make a profit. Should you indeed catch the critters it would be nice to know you have thrown the whole bag of tomatoes at them. |
