CPZ permits went up 18% last year. Miss Christie is aware of what's proposed in the new budget but declines to answer. It's not been mentioned so that the council tax sum is not readily linked. We still don't know what the GLA Mayor will ask us to pay. The naive suggestion that there's a link between income and CPZ scheme location is breathtaking. No doubt Cllr Sampson will want to contribute to rebut. The parking revenue account went into debit because the Govt stopped CCTV enforcement. Chiswick High Road by way of example got blitzed raising millions. The account was topped up in the last budget and we expected some consolidation of CCTV coverage with LBH having two CCTV control rooms. No such luck. The then Lead Member rushed out and spent thousands in cameras to cover some yellow boxes. No business case was ever seen. Ignoring this minutiae the current LBH budget is overspent by £10 million plus. Ineffective oversight, squandering and a jumbo project not even passing thru a procurement process is part of this crumbling mess. |
