I don't see how taking away half the parking spaces increases desirability. These are two bed and sometimes three bed maisonettes with young families and often elderly folk in the ground floor maisonettes who will need short term parking spaces for carers, nurses and family visitors etc. I can't see any paying parking meters in the few lined out spaces. Going past this evening the yellow lined side has cars parked on the pavement, blocking the pavement completely whereas it was mainly partial pavement parking before with at least pedestrian walking space. Did the people who voted for the scheme understand that when the yellow lines went down that the unofficial pavement parking was gone? |
