There is no guarantee you will get a parking space and when the lines go in they reduce the amount of parking space being used there by making sure that road junctions are kept clear. There is also a problem with large CPZs because people will park nearer anything like a station within their own CPZ because they suddenly feel empowered to do so. New developments like blocks of flats don't have enough parking in their plans for everybody to have a car. This should be made clear to potential buyers and the communities where they are being built. We just don't have enough space for all the cars people want to have especially when people nowadays want more than one car per family and the children have come back to home to live. We need to make sure that we have good public transport and taking advantage of it when we can and making sure that our children know how to use it. When we can no longer drive how are we going to get around? We should also try and embrace new ideas like car-sharing and car clubs. |
