Things will not revert to how they were: see items 1, 2, 3 and 4 of my post above. “The present design shows marked spaces. So what if you have a van or 4WD that is overlength? What if you have a Smartcar? It won't work.” Again I have to disagree. The design I’ve seen does not show individual bays. It shows long stretches for a number of vehicles. Please look at how it’s done in Hamilton Road. There may be some ”lost” space as there are some breaks between the long stretches. But even this is negligible – look at Hamilton Road again: there is hardly any “lost” space. The small parts of the streets with no parking areas are the parts where people should not park in any event. |
