| Well, Claire, we've been there a few times before. The streets with most parking problems (those closer to the new developments, train station, football grounds) voted in favour of CPZ. The less affected ones voted against - indeed, they don't experience that much of a problem, so why would they worry? But the point is that the residents of the most problematic streets must be heard, and the certain roads that voted in favour of CPZ should get CPZ. As for the lady from Hamilton Road electing to park for free instead of paying for CPZ permit - it is a disgrace. Same as the residents of the new developments who decide not to pay for parking in their developments, but to park in the adjacent streets for free. Or garage owners who prefer to fill their garages with old junk and park in the street. |
