What does bemuse me is it would appear from some of the posts on this thread that the Council failed to formally notify residents of the Area Forum meeting. Now whilst I wouldn't necessarily expect the Council to send a notification letter to every single household originally consulted, I would expect any household who took the time to respond to be formally notified of the Area Forum meeting so that they could attend the meeting if they wanted to. Back in my day when a planning application or enforcement matter was to be reported to a Committee meeting we'd write to everyone concerned as soon as the agenda was published, directing them to where the agenda could be viewed online, explaining the protocol for speakers etc. I've no idea what the procedure is for highways matters, but it would seem fundamentally wrong to me if those residents who had contributed to the consultation exercise were not then formally advised that the matter was to be discussed at a specific Area Forum. |
