| This is not true Ian. Residents will still be better off. Firstly - there will be no holiday makers who use our streets as a long term parking. Secondly - even some of the overnight parkers will look for alternatives (including using their underground parking). The reason why I personally after a lot of thinking voted for the maximum time CPZ (looks like that's what is being proposed now) is that some of the overnight parkers come home early. And if they cannot park when they get home it will encourage them to look for alternatives. Thirdly, a number of residents of new developments are not overnight parkers, but park in the residential streets permanently. With the CPZ it will stop. |
