Neon signs on top of the Green Dragon Lane tower blocks - refusal of the application receommnded by the planning department and also borough solicitor, yet members fly in the face of all the advice and representations of residents and approve this eyesore. Apparently it's all about Hounslow (hopeless) Homes making a few bob, and two Brentford councillors Matt Harmer and Ruth Cadbury supported this travesty. All the councillors who voted for this should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves, when was making money a planning consideration? Did I imagine it or was the campaign to get the much liked Lucozade sign replaced told that it was a distraction to drivers on the elevated section of the A4, even though it had been there for donkey's years? Then this gets approved - it beggars belief. I have a suggestion for the twerps who run Hopeless Homes, try letting your properties out instead of leaving them boarded up and empty for months on end, if you're so concerned about revenue. |
