In many places abroad, this kind of thing indicates neighbourhoods of poor quality, high crime and usually red light districts. Places that you speed through with haste (unless you are Hugh Grant) Jamacia Ave near JFK in New York springs to mind. Not a nice place to be at night. This will be how Brentford will be seen. It is bad enough already and so far I don't see any benefits reaped locally from the existing array of hideous signage. If, as has happened recently in the US a sign catches fire or gets weather damaged and god forbid causes a fatality or injury and this is not uncommon in third world site which I presume LBH wish to emmulate, who will be brought to book? Presumably the Councillors who ignored advice and voted for it. Names please. |
