Jim, You will note if you go back to the Officers report that there was no highway safety objection from any statutory consultee - I checked after I posted because common sense told me there's no way there could be a highway safety objection. Don't slag off my common sense, I have a different view and application of common sense to yours, respect that - in my time on this forum I've often thought to myself how you always try to come across as this charming bloke but as soon as anyone express a contrary view you turn on them in a rather snide way, and to be quite frank it's not a quality I like. Do me a favour, go on Google Maps or Bing Maps, load up the birds eye view for this location and tell me, honestly, that if you're driving up the M4 sliproad the towers aren't anywhere near the drivers line of vision - they are at 90 degrees to the direction of movement, so there's absolutely no reason why a driver driving with due care and attention should be looking at the towers, because to do so they wouldn't be looking at the road ahead of them. That isn't anything to do with common sense, that's a fact. Not trying to get involved in an argument but makes my blood boil when firstly someone insults my own personal application of common sense, and secondly has the temerity to base that insult on something that isn't even factually correct. What a nice bloke you are...not. |
