The planning section at Hounslow and indeed the Environment department, of which it is a part, is certainly way out of control, as I have noted on this forum on many previous occasions. ICG councillors during the 2006-2010 administration fought a long, protracted and very lonely battle with them and recorded some successes but sadly the 2010 elections intervened to prevent us from finishing the job. In this instance however it doesn't seem to have been the department that was driving this, indeed if Vanessa is correct it expressed concerns. There is though another issue with this particular application that stands out irrespective of its own merits or demerits, and that is the fact that the Council is both the applicant (Hounslow Homes is wholly owned by LBH) and the judge of the application. This must surely present a conflict of interests? |
