Our road (New Road) was consulted but when the results were published only few people had made any sort of vote - it was certainly single figures. That is why I asked the question does a 'abstain' mean a vote against the CPZ. I work is Ealing where there was a problem when the town hall sold the car park. The result was that commuters were parking in local streets and the neighbours were unhappy. A consultation took place and a CPZ introduced from 0900 - 1000am and 1500 - 1600pm which has resulted in moving the problem from one area to another. However, it has stopped all the commuters parking in the area covered by the CPZ so the neighbours are now happy again. We are now expecting a further CPZ in the new area which will move the problem again and so on. However, the one hour solution may work around here as there are no offices. |
