I live in Mafeking Avenue, and if you are not home for 4pm, then it is difficult to park, but we all know this, we are used to it. However, with even more cars looking for spaces it will soon become impossible. You only have to be around on a saturday when the Bees are at home to see what congestion is. I am not against social housing, I grew up on a council estate in Bristol, but it seems to me that in Brentford we have "more than or fair share" of social housing. In the late 80's we lost a patch of GREEN space opposite the Old Fire Station, and then there is the GD estate, if the council wanted to do something positive they should demolish it and redesign and rebuild it, it is way past its best date. Of course we all know that wont happen. And finally, the little gap that the low level garages provide, does allow the occasional ray of sunlight to penetrate in to the end of Mafeking Avenue. Just another tiny little piece of pleasure soon to be blotted out. |
