My neighbours were by and large unaware until I told them following receipt of a council letter. There is a deadline for making comments. The documents show that the council is developing the dwellings and presumably funding the development at its (our) expense. Unless the council means to sell the development on privately, I fail to understand where any meaningful profit will come from. That's not money coming in - it's money going out - where is the return? Parking locally will become intolerable and difficult in the extreme as the former garage tenants opt to park their cars on the already congested local streets. Exactly what is the net benefit to the local community of St Paul's conservation area then? Brentford is becoming less brilliant by the day. |
