Hmmm That is very interesting Anthony.....This is what it says in minutes of council meeting ??? Isleworth & Brentford Area Committee – 17 November 2011 BROOK ROAD SOUTH AREA, BRENTFORD - OBJECTIONS TO PROPOSED 'AT ANY TIME' WAITING RESTRICTIONS Report by: Director of Environment Due to the high number of objections to the proposed waiting restrictions, the Fire Service were requested to carry out a test run to determine if they experienced any obstructions when accessing the roads off Brook Road South. The Fire Service were asked to visit New Road, Hamilton Road, Clifden Road, Braemar Road, Mafeking Avenue and Grosvenor Road. During the test run, the fire service confirmed that, “one of our appliances carried out a test run yesterday in this area. We found the junction between New Road and Brook Road South impassable due to the parking restrictions currently in place. Access into Brook Road from Braemar Road was extremely tight as the appliance could not turn the corner without coming into contact with a parked vehicle. Whilst I have sympathy for the local residents with regard to this issue I must request that your team take sufficient action to enable us to reach any type of emergency in the Brook Road South area with the minimum of delay”. 2.8 Furthermore, the Fire Service admitted that they did not attempt to access Clifden Road, Mafeking Avenue or Grosvenor Road as they could visually see that there would be issues manoeuvring the vehicle into these roads. 2.9 On the basis of the Fire Service test run, it is recommended that the objections to the proposed waiting restrictions are overruled and the yellow lines are implemented |
