| I know that Barbara Reid is making all efforts to rectify this situation and, amongst everything else, monitors the content of this forum for feedback of how things are going on the ground - so all your postings are useful in improving the system. However, this is the old 'turning the oil tanker' scenario and the improvements are taking time to take effect given the whole backlog of the situation. It is not acceptable and Cllr Reid has publicly acknowledged this in a 'the buck stops here' speech to Borough Council. What should be noted is that while she is taking responsibility for the mess the real responsibility lies in the hubris of those setting up the system and the incompetance of the contractors. I understand that there will be a Scrutiny into the recycling system in the next few months and I believe this will establish this. The important thing will not be to apportion blame but to establish what went wrong so that this can be prevented in future major implementations. |
