| The Council's instructions state: "Please place your sack/box out before 7.00am on your collection day, at the front boundary of your property, clearly visible from the road (not on the pavement)." Most householders do this but the collection men throw the boxes onto the pavement causing obstructions. I retrived a box and paper bag from the pavement after spotting an elderly, disabled neighbour searching for them in the dark just after they had been emptied in the evening. While recycling is essential, I wonder if the present time consuming and expensive system is cost-effective? JL |
