If Mr Telford wasn't such a dimwit he would have noted that the complaints were not my own. Inverted commas normally indicate quotes! In this instance they were quotes from what individual residents of St Margarets, Twickenham, Isleworth, Whitton, Hounslow and Richmond have experienced over the last few weeks. To reiterate: "here's a little whiff of what voters have been experiencing over the last few weeks because the Tory Group approved this expansion." However, Mr Telford's remark that he doesn't understand why someone moved to the area is indeed indicative of the Tory arrogance, ignorance and somewhat bigoted attitude towards the individual circumstances of individuals. Mr Telford is effectively stating that Tory attitude towards the residents of the 33,000 dwellings affected by the Mogden Pong is - 'up yours. you shouldn't live there' I wonder if Mr Telford has the same attitude towards the Chiswick Rowers who complain about raw sewage in the Thames? Is the answer 'tough luck, you shouldn't use the River Thames because Thames Water has been pumping raw sewage into the river ever since the Sewage Works was privatised' ?? Its remarks like those made by Mr Telford which guarantee the Tories will never again be in power in Hounslow. |
