"But the situation is what it is and slagging Councillors off - I doubt one of them stood for election without wanting to serve and improve their community - does not resolve anything." Jon, I understand what you are saying but lets not forget that the situation is was it is BECAUSE of these Tory Councillors who performed a cowardly u-turn on what they knew would be the right thing to do if they were to serve the community they were elected to serve. Barry Edwards, in his capacity as an environmental scientist and expert on sewage and matters relating to the River Thames, made it perfectly clear (and put it in layman's terms so that even a simpleton could understand) that after two decades of mismanagement by Thames and little or no power being exercised by LBH, the expansion would not be sustainable and residents welcomed the opportunity for control to be taken out of Hounslow's hands and placed under the office of the Mayor of London. Barry has now been proved to be 100% correct, as predicted, so it is right that these Councillors are continuously slagged off until they admit their failings and offer an apology to the communities of Hounslow and Richmond who are suffering daily. The situation now is far worse than it was last year before the ill-fated expansion commenced. |
